An astrologically auspicious time window. On Akshaya Tritiya, the entire day's tithi qualifies, but smaller Abhijit muhurat windows are considered ideal for gold purchase.
Muhurat is calculated based on the position of the moon, planets, and the specific tithi (lunar date). Abhijit muhurat is a ~48-minute window around solar noon considered most auspicious for starting work or major purchases. City-specific muhurat times are published by Drik Panchang, Ishta Devata, and most jeweler websites a week in advance.
